End of Support for Microsoft LPE Devices

Recently, Microsoft announced the deployment of Transport Layer Security 1.2 in Office 365. As a result, all Microsoft Lync Phone Edition devices will stop being supported. What does this mean for you?

Starting October 31, the following devices will stop connecting to O365 services including Skype for Business Online and Exchange Online:

  • Polycom
    • CX500
    • CX600
    • CX3000
  • Hewlett-Packard
    • 4110
    • 4120
  • Mitel-Aastra
    • 6721ip
    • 6725ip

If you have any of these devices in your environment, we encourage you to start to develop a plan to transition to new devices. The aforementioned devices will have to be replaced, as they can't be upgraded to support Transport Layer Security 1.2. If you don't transition to new devices by October 31, you will experience issues connecting / signing into Skype for Business in Office 365.

The good news is that you have many options for transitioning from LPE to new devices, and Blue Chip is here to help you. Just drop us a line at info@bluechip-llc.com to learn more!
